Archival Mounting Panel 5x5 (5" x 5" x 3/8")
For archival mounting of Drawings, Paintings, and Prints, and for mounting paper and canvas, to make art on.
The Mounting Panel has a heat activated archival adhesive pre-mounted to the surface. When the panel is heated above 140 degrees the adhesive becomes tacky and when the temperature falls below 140 degrees it is set. Mounting can be done in a conventional oven, a photographic dry mount press, or with an electric iron.
Place the artwork, paper, or canvas on the heated panel. Apply light pressure with a brayer or soft rag. The temperature will quickly fall below 140 degrees and then the bond will be made. It can then be trimmed using the edge of the panel as a strait edge.
Archival mounting can be reversed at any time in the future by re-heating the panel above 140 degrees.
Art hangs without framing. The panel has recessed slots in the back for easy hanging in either direction.
